In June John and Nicola visited Uig Lodge on Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. Here they were able to enjoy the most wonderful views down to the beach, the surround scenary which is breathtaking. The lodge is run by a lovely couple (Elly and Dickon Green) and they also manage the restaurant Uig Sands, located just down the road. They have lived in Uig for 10 years and it was a few years ago that the idea for a restaurant came about and what a journey it has been! 

Uig Sands is available for bookings for dinner and they specialist in local seafood and produce from around the islands. Crab claws, mussels and their own smoked salmon were all on the extensive menu. 

John and Nicola popped into the famous smokery at Uig to pick up a side of salmon and see the team at work, see our photos below of the best smoked salmon we’ve ever tasted! A visit to the Outer Hebrides wouldn’t be the same without a trip to Harris Tweed Hebrides, John and Nicola met with Sales Director Margaret Macleod for an update on tweed production and their 2021 range!
