Tell us a bit about yourself?
When I’m not partaking in Fieldsports myself, deer stalking being a particular passion of mine, you’ll find me assisting my husband, who alongside his full-time farrier business runs Stormwatch Gundogs. We offer residential training and one to one and group lessons.
You will also often find me chasing after my mischievous teckel – Sybil!
Are you someone that’s always loved the countryside way of life?
I feel hugely privileged to have had the opportunity to grow up in the countryside, and even more so through working in the industry.
Have you lived in Scotland long?
Tell us a bit about your role at CSS?
Using our marketing tools, such as our website and social media channels, we aim to both raise awareness for the uniqueness of country sports opportunities present in Scotland and advertise available sporting for our sporting providers.
The website is free to use for consumers and is a great way for visitors to search by quarry, location and see what nearby estates have to offer. Bookings are dealt with directly with the provider, with no commission from ourselves.
You seem to enjoy fieldsports. In the past there has perhaps been a lack of interest from ladies. Have you noticed a change in the last few years?
Now there are many fantastic organisations, like Country Girls UK, run by Tania and her team, who do a fantastic job of creating a community and encouraging more woman into the industry. Social media has also been an excellent tool for connecting like-minded people.
What do you like to wear when out in the field?
I also think good waterproofs are crucial – particularly living in Scotland! A good piece of knitwear is a shooting wardrobe must, Campbell’s have the perfect balance of heritage and practicality.
How did you find about about Campbell’s and when did you got your first set of tweeds?
I have struggled for years to a find a pair of tweed breeks/plus fours that fit me properly. So, I decided to treat myself to a bespoke pair and have never looked back!
